Hand made by skilled craftsmen employed by a leading British foundry that has been making quality brasswares for more than 75 years. Individually made using the traditional sand-casting method and a pure first-run ingot rass mix rich in copper for depth of colour and durability. No scrap/recycled brass is ever used...thus ensuring that no impurities are in the brass mix. After the cast is removed, it is shot-blasted, hand dressed and hand filed to remove any excess material that may have been left during the sand-csting process. Each door knocker is hand polished to enhance the true beauty of quality brass and antiqued to give it background and definition in its pattern. The antique colouration is removed from the more pronounced areas to give the finished piece a beautifuly aged look. Each door knocker is made to last for generations.
